With almost 40 years as a professional musician in Hawai‘i, Mark Yim has had the opportunity to learn and work with some of the finest artists and award winning groups as well as his participation in the largest production show company in Hawai‘i.
Mark was previously a member of the Peter Moon band and Tihati Productions. He currently performs as a band leader for his own business and entertains with Jerome Koko in the Makaha Sons.
Over the years, he’s studied and performed with prestigious entertainers including: Olomana, Hapa, Karen Keawehawai‘i, Bill Ka‘iwa, Kawai Cockett, Martin Pahinui, Nina Kealiiwahamana, Kekua Fernandes, Darrell Lupenui, and the Hawaiian Isle Serenaders.
Mark studied for years under the guidance of Peter Moon, the legendary musician of the Sunday Manoa and the Peter Moon Band in addition to Sam Bernard, a noted falsetto singer, ukulele and hula master.
He continues to teach young musicians, guitar and vocals, encouraging them to perpetuate and improve the music of Hawai‘i, while striving for excellence in the music they perform and record. A consummate professional, a true leader among men with a standard of performance at the highest level, Mark Yim brings many years of excellence to Na Mea Ho‘okani.
